10. Apple Hill - Haiku
apple crop
late this year
cold spring, cool summer
weather complications
harvest will go well
into november
had snow
warm weather
coaxed the apples along
warm days
apples catching-up
getting ripe
our favorite fruit
american as, well ...
apple season is here
lucky us
a bountiful apple supply
ready for picking
fresh, crisp and juicy
firm and heavy
avoid that musty smell
picking apples
off the tree
mature firm fruit
cut apple
rapidly turning brown
dipped in lemon juice
baking apples
cinnamon and nutmeg
brings back memories

I was a city kid, so what did I know about growing apples? But it never really felt like autumn until the new shiny beautiful apples showed up. I thought 'empire apples' were the best invention ever. A cross between a mac and a delicious. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThere's something really special about your project Steve. Thank you. I am enjoying these so very much.
