Shepard Fairey (Barack Obama Hope & Obey Giant) & crew: Painting a massive, 15-story tribute to Johnny Cash marking the 50th anniversary of his ‘Live at Folsom Prison’ performance.
Photos of the painting of the ‘Johnny Cash’ mural (16th & L) & the closing celebration of the Sacramento Wide Open Walls 10-day summer festival. Over 40 local, national, and international muralists painted across Sacramento.
My cousin, JK (Julie Kaye), has been an integral part of Wide Open Walls Festivals for years. She was a key member of the team responsible for organizing this particular year’s festival and its closing celebrations. She collaborated closely with the artists, ensuring that their project requirements were met and that all the logistical aspects of hosting such a large number of artists and a significant project were managed efficiently.
As you can see, one of Shepard’s many talents is DJ’ing.
The last B&W photo is Shepard with his artist and co-owner wife Amanda.
