  2. Thanks Sharon, sorry for my late reply.

The images in this project so far are digital including "8". I have been using Coral Painter and a Wacom tablet to draw with. Three of the images (1,7 & 14) were photos I had taken that I first worked on in Photoshop "Elements" the finished in Painter. I think I mentioned to you before how I'm longing for the analog and hope to bring that into this project down the road.

I'm currently taking some time to reflect on this project and bring in some changes based on what I have experience doing the 31 pieces so far. For one thing it's taking more time than I thought to do each piece so I need to work on this. I think I need more balance with the poetry and the art. And I'm thinking I need to broaden my POV of this project and maybe be a little more experimental. So anyway I'm working through all this and will get going here soon.

By the way, I'm really been enjoying your paintings. Scheherazade and 1001 nights, what a great place for the imagination to work from. I know a few of the stories, but will need to spend little more time with them. The way that part of the world is today I forget how beautiful & rich their imagination, history & culture is. Take care. Steve

  3. Hi Steve! Thank you for your description of how you've done these pieces. Must admit that is a 'New World' for me. They looked like silkscreens - but then they didn't! There is a difference in the sense of 'light' they all have. Don't know if that's the right way to describe that. I've really enjoyed these and love #31! Fine image there. I understand the difference between digital and analog in music - and always choose the analog 'sound'. So warm and appealing. Don't know what you mean by digital/analog for image tech. I still love my old 35mm Nikons that use film and have my old darkroom equipment in storage. But then I'm even worse than that - I still prefer Black & White photography! I use a digital camera now, but I am not truly happy.

You have a really amazing first 31 days here. You sound like you're giving this a good review now to set yourself on a very strong road for your future pieces. It's a major task - and smart of you to access at this time. I would guess that to continue for the long haul you'd want to assure now a scope that will bring you the greatest sense of purpose.

Thank you for your comment about my 'Scheherazade' series. These pieces are something I have wanted to do for a very long time. I grew up with these stories. My grandmother was from Tunisia. I think that the events of this year were the impetus for me to finally explore this. She shared so much of what she loved in a way that made me so aware of how little of 'her world' is known or understood by 'my world'.
